This site is dedicated to the memory of Arthur Holguin.

Arthur Paul Holguin was the second born son to Edward and Louise Holguin. He was born in Santa Monica, California on July 16 1949. The family soon grew to include three more brothers and three sisters. As a young boy Arthur played organized baseball and helped his father over the summer with his gardening business. He attended Short Avenue Elementary School, Marina Del Rey Middle School and Venice High School. At the tender age of 18 he enlisted in the United States Army. He did his boot camp training at Fort Ord, California and was then shipped off to Fort Hood, Texas. He proudly served his country in Vietnam. Upon his return from the service he married his high school sweetheart Pat Lacour. They had three sons, Tony Damon and Jason. The family bought a house and settled in Sylmar, California. During his short life Arthur had many jobs which included cooking at Holy Cross Hospital, The Tile Store, Del Paisio and grounds keeper at Almehy Catholic School. He enjoyed his last job the best, it lasted 22 years and was at the Home Depot in San Fernando. He loved his many friends, co-workers and customers at the Home Depot. Arthur loved his family! He survived by his three sons, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who were all the light of his life. Coming from a family of 10, Arthur had many cousins, nieces and nephews. It was always fun when grandpa and uncle Art was around. In 2005 Arthur and Pat purchased an RV. Arthur loved it! They had an opportunity to go on several camping trips and loved every minute of it. Arthur was a lover of the ocean, plants and flowers. And he was quite good at making flower arrangements for his departed mother. Even after learning about his diagnosis, he kept a smile on his face and a sense of humor. Although he tried he didn't stand a chance against the evils of cancer and left us quietly at his home on April 19, 2013. Arthur loved life. He would strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. He was interested in everything. he lived his life his way and his free spirit, lust for life and notorious sense of humor will always be with us. He will be terribly missed by everyone but especially by his wife "honey", who will forever be his girl.
